Melissa came to us in 2014 as an intern, and she loved it so much, she never left! She’s become an adopted family member to us and we’re so grateful to have her here.
In 2015, she was an intern mentor, and a tremendous help with the program. Now she is the Youth Programs coordinator for our non-profit — Project H3LP!
She’s the first to jump in and help anyone that needs it, and is pretty much a steady-eddie. The horses love her, the people love her, and we are so lucky to have this very talented, super kind gal on our team!
Melissa is the owner of What-A-Cinch designs, and makes some pretty cool mohair cinches and breast collars! She is also a certified Equine Massage Therapist, and practices musculoskeletal bodywork that’s a combination of deep tissue massage, physical therapy, acupressure, trigger point release and stretches. This combination helps the horse self adjust!
In 2021 Melissa was the Fellowship Recipient for The Art of the Cowgirl Horsemanship Fellowship. She spent 2 weeks with Lee Smith, handling babies and starting a colt at Lee’s Ranch. At the 2022 Art of the Cowgirl Event, she carried on with that colt, Keeper, and put another couple rides on her.
